Planning a custom carved idol or relief

Start with a readable silhouette and an agreed model, then review fine features, the base and finishing.

Relief or freestanding

A relief is carved from one face of a panel. A freestanding idol needs more viewing information and may require several machining setups. A reference photograph does not define the hidden surfaces of a three-dimensional object.

Keep fine details practical

Thin features, deep recesses and unsupported projections need a workshop review. Increasing the overall size does not automatically solve every tool-access problem. The approved model, cutter access and workholding determine feasibility.

Agree what is included

Confirm whether the quotation includes one piece or a collection, the base, sanding, polish and protective packing. Sample collection images are illustrative; a starting price does not cover every object pictured.

Approve the model and finish

The team reviews the design before preparing manufacturing artwork. Machine-specific CAM, toolpaths and setup checks remain production responsibilities. A preview or an exported artwork file is not proof that a machine can safely run the job.
